MY XXL LINE A !
Due to its success, the current capacity of Métro line A, which went into service in 1993, no longer meets the demand during peak travel times. The line therefore needs modernising to improve traveller comfort and safety.
The platforms are therefore being extended in four stations in order to accommodate 52-metre trains: Mermoz, Fontaine Lestang, Patte d’Oie and Basso Cambo, and improvements are planned in all 18 stations on Métro line A. The platforms in the Jean Jaurès station will also be extended and passenger flows will be reorganised to improve pedestrian traffic and the connection with Métro line B.
The transport service that connects with Métro Line A has been optimised and our staff are at your service to provide any help or information you may need. Here are the main recommended lines and some tips to make your daily life easier during the renovation work.

STATIONS MERMOZ, PATTE D’OIE, FONTAINE LESTANG

- extending the platform façades,
- building emergency exits,
- bringing the smoke extraction system into compliance.
The remaining work required to allow this station to operate with 52-metre platforms involves:
STATION JEAN JAURÈS
- extending the platforms of Line A to 52 metres,
- reorganising traveler-traffic flow to avoid saturation, in particular by improving the exchange links between the Line A and Line B.
The work to be carried out involves:
ALL THE OTHER STATIONS already have 52-metre platforms. The adjustments concern non-structural work, such as fixtures and fittings, the compliance of the smoke extraction system, and the creation of additional emergency exits, if necessary.
